CHAI Releases 2025 Impact Report Showcasing Key Milestones and Member Community
11 March 2026
Washington, DC – March 11, 2026 – Today, the Coalition for Health AI (CHAI) released its , detailing the organization’s annual progress and outlining priorities for the year ahead. Developed in collaboration with CHAI’s growing network of health systems, technology companies, policymakers, researchers, and patient advocates, the report highlights the coalition’s work to ensure AI in healthcare is trusted, safe, and effective.
CHAI’s 2025 focused on three key principals: convening the healthcare ecosystem, building consensus standards, and developing practical governance tools to support real-world AI implementation. As part of these focus areas, CHAI was able to successfully engage:
1,000+ active workgroup members who participated across CHAI initiatives
15-80+ experts that joined every workgroup meeting, convening weekly or biweekly
220+ total workgroup publication downloads in 2026
300+ new members that joined our Member Forum on Discord in the first four months
650+ members attended CHAI convenings throughout the year
“I’m proud of the work that our community accomplished last year in the midst of a rapidly evolving time for health AI,” said Brian Anderson, CEO of CHAI. “We forged strong partnerships with many organizations, notably with Joint Commission and the National Association of Community Health Centers, and have continued to build upon our growing member base. I look forward to the many upcoming convenings and guidance that CHAI will announce in 2026, only made possible through the constant collaboration of our members.”
“At our scale in Texas, it’s crucial to align and streamline how we approach AI challenges across our campuses and organizations throughout the state. If each campus or organization does things differently, progress is limited,” said Peter McCaffrey, Chief AI + Digital Officer at the University of Texas System. “Joining CHAI has helped the UT System establish frameworks and best practices so we can move forward together as a unified health ecosystem and continuously drive growth and improvement.”
“Health systems across the country are navigating many of the same challenges around AI governance, implementation, and oversight,” said Demetri Giannikopoulos, Chief Innovation Officer of Rad AI. “CHAI brings together health system leaders, policymakers, technology developers, and patient leaders to learn from one another and work together to responsibly integrate these technologies into everyday care.”
“As AI adoption accelerates, health systems need clearer ways to understand the organizations building and supporting health AI technologies,” said Pelu Tran, CEO of Ferrum Health. “By aligning with CHAI’s frameworks and documenting capabilities, the CHAI Partner Program creates a shared reference point that helps health systems better understand how solutions are developed, evaluated, and deployed responsibly.”
