Following the success of our inaugural “CHAI on the Hill” in November 2024 with Senator Rounds’ office, this year’s convening will bring together leaders from government, industry, academia, and the healthcare AI community for a targeted, action-oriented discussion on building the infrastructure, evaluation frameworks, and policy pathways necessary to accelerate safe, effective, and equitable AI in healthcare.

Why this moment matters:
The momentum for Health AI has only grown. The White House AI Action Plan, released this July, calls for regulatory sandboxes, national testbeds, evaluation infrastructure, and a NIST-led consortium for performance standards. CHAI’s work - including our model cards, Health AI registry, certified Assurance Resource Providers, and federal and state engagements - directly advances this agenda and provides practical pathways for adoption.

• A bipartisan congressional staff panel on how they’re thinking about AI in healthcare

• Live demos from innovators in Agentic AI 

• Deep-dives on AI Governance considerations and solutions 

• Panels on payment models, assurance resource providers, registries, and startup/VC perspectives

This convening will provide Members of Congress and staff with a first-hand look at the trusted infrastructure and real-world use cases that can ensure AI strengthens our healthcare system while protecting patients and providers.
